VAPOTEC s treatment method with vacuum evaporator at its core is designed for purification of various industrial fluids. With this method, which vaporize liquids in vacuum, it is possible to close processes and return / recycle liquids at low cost and concentrate waste down to as little as 1% of original volume. The purity of the condensate becomes high, and ensures regulatory requirements on discharge quality. The financial savings are often very high by reducing waste volumes. The system is designed to separate volatile pollutants from water or other solvents, based on a natural process of evaporation, which separates and concentrates the pollutants
Low energy consumptio n - by using vacuum and advanced methods of energy recovery, Vapotecs vacuum evaporator produce clean water at low energy consumption .
VAPOTEC produces two types of evaporators , VAPOTEC 1 and VAPOTEC 2
Vapotec 1 - Heat Pump Vacuum Evaporator
For smaller flows , we recommend systemsVAPOTEC 1. Vapotec 1uses a heat pump for energy transfer . On the warm side liquid is vaporized and vapour is driven over to the cold side where it condenses. Condensing energy is transferred from the cold side by means of a heating medium to the hot side where it is reused for evaporation again , according to the normal heat pump principle. Energy consumption is thus low because a heat pump is used for both heating and cooling. This type is recommended for flows less than 50 l/h or when the process conditions so require . Vapotec 1 work typically at 30-40 °C and 50 mbar . Due to the simple construction of wetted partsVapotec 1 can be manufactured in a variety of materials . Both non aggressive liquids as well as very aggressive media can therefore be purified in the evaporator.
Vapotec 2 - Mechanical Vapour Recompression (MVR) Evaporator
For flows above 50 l/h, we recommend system VAPOTEC 2 which has extremely low power consumption. This is obtained by using the thermal effect obtained by compression of the vaporized liquid. VAPOTEC 2 works typically at 60-70 ° C and 200-300 mbar pressure. The energy required for evaporation is returned after compression to the contaminated liquid when the vapour condenses. In principle, no other energy is added to the process than what is required to operate the the pumps. The process thus becomes extremely energy efficient. The design with forced circulation and preheating of dirty water with separated condensed water minimizes the risk of clogging and scaling. As standard all wetted parts are in stainless steel, AISI 316, or better. More resistant materials can be chosen if necessary.
Often it is enough to use vacuum evaporation as a single step process, but sometimes you have to include further process steps. These process steps can be arranged prior to evaporation, such as different filter solutions for particle (suspended solids) - removal or oil removal, but also on concentrate and/or condensate from the evaporation process could be needed. A fairly common solution is carbon filtration of the condensate for reduction of volatile COD before the condensate is recycled or sent to the recipient.
With our long experience VAPOTEC can find solutions in an optimal way to ensure the desired results.
